NATIONAL PARK SERVICE (AP) The National Park Service says it is investigating the potential fee to drive a car in a national park.
The park service says the fee was added to cover a fee hike that took effect last year.
The fee is part of a nationwide hike that includes a new vehicle registration fee.
The fees are a way to pay for infrastructure that includes highways, roads and campsites.
A few years ago, the agency proposed the fee as part of the national parks program to increase the park service’s financial capacity.
