FLORIDA—A Florida school district is giving students access to free online courses on how to drive more efficiently.

The Free Vehicle Program, which launched this year, gives students free access to a series of courses and instruction materials on how drivers can learn to drive cheaper.

It also allows them to borrow and lend a vehicle to drive to and from school.

The free program is available for students of grades 7 through 12 and will cost $600 to $800.

The program has been popular with students of color, said John Buechler, a principal in Monroe County Schools in Florida’s Orange County.

“This is a great way to have them learn to use the vehicle in their everyday lives,” he said.

A recent study showed that nearly 1 in 5 drivers in Florida have no vehicle insurance.

The district said it hopes the program will encourage students to use less fuel, reduce pollution, and help it reach more students.

“The Free Driving Program has made a huge impact on the lives of our students,” Buehler said in a statement.
