A man who authorities say shot and killed a woman driving a bus in Arizona has been charged with the crime.

A Mesa man is facing charges in the slaying of 33-year-old Maria Cazares, according to court documents.

Authorities say Cazarses death was an accident.

Authorities say Crazes was traveling on the Mesa County School Bus when the bus crashed and struck a parked vehicle.

Authorities believe the crash was caused by a person driving a red pickup truck, NBC affiliate KPNX reported.

The man is accused of firing a shot from the truck, striking Cazarios head, the Phoenix Police Department said.

The suspect is also facing charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and failure to maintain the lane, KPNx reported.

The man is not currently a student at Mesa State University.
